Persian Abstract

زمینه و هدف: امروزه متداول‌ترین فشار روانی – اجتماعی که خانواده‌های بیماران مبتلا به اختلالات روانی به‌ویژه بیماران مبتلا به اسکیزوفرن، با آن مواجه هستند؛ مسئله استیگما می‌باشد. در ایران، علی‌رغم تأثیرات فرهنگی و اجتماعی بر استیگما، کمتر به این مسئله پرداخته شده است. لذا مطالعه حاضر با هدف تعیین سطح استیگما در مراقبین خانوادگی خانواده بیماران مبتلا به اسکیزوفرن بستری در بیمارستان روانپزشکی ابن سینا- مشهد انجام گرفت. روش‌ها: این مطالعه توصیفی- مقطعی بر روی 300 نفر از مراقبین خانوادگی خانواده بیماران مبتلا به اسکیزوفرنی بستری در بیمارستان روان‌پزشکی ابن‌سینای در مشهد 1394-1393 به روش نمونه‌گیری در دسترس انجام شد. ابزار گردآوری داده‌ها، پرسشنامه تعدیل شده استیگمای احساسی بیمار روانی بود. تحلیل داده‌ها با استفاده از نرم افزار SPSS نسخه 11.5 و آمار توصیفی انجام شد. نتایج: 70.4 درصد از مراقبین خانوادگی خانم و با میانگین سنی 14.8 ± 48.4 سال بودند. میانگین نمره کل استیگما در خانواده بیماران مبتلا به اسکیزوفرن 9.2 ± 6.42 (از 68 نمره) بود که بیشترین میانگین مربوط به بعد کنارگیری از اجتماع (3.3 ± 12.4) و کمترین میانگین مربوط به بعد تنهایی (3.0 ± 9.8) بود. نتیجه‌گیری: با توجه به سطح نسبتا بالای استیگما در مراقبین خانوادگی بیماران مورد مطالعه، توجه به آن ضروری بوده و  پیشنهاد می‌شود آموزش جامعه در سطوح مختلف در زمینه برخورد مناسب با این بیماران و خانواده‌های آنان از طریق رسانه‌ها و مراکز بهداشتی درمانی صورت گیرد.

Stigma in Family caregivers of Patients with Schizophrenia Hospitalized in Ibn-Sina Psychiatric Hospital of Mashhad in 2014-2015

Abstract

Background & Aim: Stigma is one of the most chal­lenging psychosocial burdens among family caregivers of patients with mental disorders; especially schizophrenia. In Iran, despite the cultural and social impacts, this issue has been less studied. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the stigma level in the family caregivers of patients with schizophrenia hospitalized in Ibn-Sina Psychiatric Hospital of Mashhad. Method: This descriptive/cross-sectional study was performed on 300 family caregivers of patients with schizophrenia hospitalized in Ibn-Sina psychiatric hospital in Mashhad (2014-2015) through convenient sampling. The data collection tool was a modified version of Internalized Stigma of Mental Illness scale. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 11.5 and descriptive statistics. Results: In total, 70.4 percent of family caregivers were female with mean age of 48.4 ± 14.8 years. The mean score of total stigma was 42.6 ± 9.2 (of 68 points) in family’s caregivers of patients with schizophrenia. The highest average was related to social withdrawal subscale (12.4± 3.3) and the lowest average was related to alienation subscale (9.8 ± 3.0). Conclusion: Due to the relatively high level of stigma in family's caregivers of the present study, it is necessary to pay more attention to this issue. In addition, it is recommended to make society aware of how to behave appropriately with these patients and their families through media and health care centers.
